The XLI Sports Day of Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Perambur, held on 7 February 2026, unfolded as a vibrant celebration of student energy, leadership and sporting excellence. More than a ceremonial event, the day reflected the dedication, preparation and teamwork of the students who brought the grounds alive with colour and enthusiasm.
The proceedings commenced with a disciplined and spirited march-past led by the College Band, followed by the Sports Secretary, Joint Sports Secretary and members of the Student Council. The four Houses—Red, Blue, Green and Yellow—marched in synchronised formations, demonstrating unity and pride. After weeks of practice, the Yellow House, captained by R. R. Moana Sree of III B.Com. General, secured the Overall March-Past trophy, drawing loud applause from the gathering.
A distinctive feature of the celebration was the departmental parade, where students from various disciplines marched while their academic and sporting achievements were announced. This segment underscored the College’s emphasis on holistic development, balancing intellectual growth with physical fitness.
The track and field events began with the 400m, 200m and 100m races under the guidance of Physical Directress Mrs G. Sandhya. Students competed with determination, displaying resilience and healthy sportsmanship. The programme was further enlivened by energetic zumba and aerobics routines, as well as demonstrations of yoga, karate and silambam, all performed by students.
The day concluded with the distribution of prizes, celebrating not only victory but participation and perseverance. Among the many achievers, M. Madhumitha was declared the Individual Champion, symbolising dedication and consistent performance. The Sports Day stood as a proud testament to the confidence, discipline and all-round development of CTTE students.
