GrandMaster R Praggnanandhaa, Class 11 of Velammal Main Schoo, Mogappair Campus, registered his second win over World Champion Magnus Carlsen at the Chessable Masters Online Rapid Chess Tournament on Friday, May 20, 2022.
The young chess icon outsmarted Carlsen in the fifth round in this tournament and took his score tally to 12 points, placing him in the fifth spot on the leaderboard.
Praggnanandhaa stunned the Norwegian World Champion Magnus Carlsen for the second time this year in three months, as he earlier claimed victory in the eight round at Airthings Masters, in February. As per reports, he is the third Indian to clinch victory over the Norwegian Chess superstar.
