Hindustan International Schools host ‘Harmony for Hope 2026’, Stephen Devassy leads concert celebrating music and social responsibility

Chennai, 17 April 2026: Hindustan International Schools hosted “Harmony for Hope 2026,” a soulful live music concert featuring internationally acclaimed keyboard maestro and prodigy Stephen Devassy at its campus recently. The event witnessed participation from over 800 attendees reinforcing its commitment to social responsibility.

Conceived as an initiative to promote harmony, hope, and world peace through music, the event brought together students and educators from all four campuses—Guindy, Karapakkam, Padur and Padapai, reflecting unity and a shared sense of social responsibility.

The evening commenced with a powerful performance by Hindustan International School (HIS) Band, setting an emotional and reflective tone. Their renditions of popular tracks such as ‘Kaantha Naanum Varaa’, ‘Believer’, ‘Chance illa Chennai’, ‘I have a Dream’ and‘Rock On’ were delivered with infectious energy captivating the audience. The KCG College Band further elevated the atmosphere with chart-topping numbers that kept the audience engaged.

The programme was graced by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, Hindustan Group of Institutions, who emphasised the transformative role of art and culture in inspiring social change. He encouraged students to embrace compassion, empathy and service as essential values in today’s world.

“At Hindustan, we believe education goes beyond academics. Initiatives like ‘Harmony for Hope’ empower students to understand the importance of empathy, social responsibility, and the role they can play in creating a more compassionate world,” he said.

Adding to the evening’s excitement, Super Singer fame, Master R.P. Krishaang enthralled the audience with his performances, including popular chartbusters such as ‘Animal’ song ‘Papa mere Jaan’, ‘Rathamare’ and ‘Thamizha Thamizha’ leaving the crowd cheering for more.

In recognition of his contribution to music and his ability to inspire through art, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, on behalf of the Management, Hindustan Group of Institutions, conferred the title of “Messenger of Peace” upon Stephen Devassy.

The highlight of the evening was the electrifying live performance by Stephen Devassy, widely regarded as one of Asia’s fastest pianists. Blending contemporary rhythms with classical finesse, his performance transcended boundaries, creating a deeply immersive musical experience. His dynamic stage presence and emotionally resonant compositions struck a powerful chord with the audience, reinforcing the evening’s central message of hope and unity.

“Music is a universal language that has the power to heal, connect, and inspire. Being part of an initiative like ‘Harmony for Hope’ is truly special, as it uses music not just for entertainment, but as a force for unity and positive change,” he shared.

The concert culminated in a grand finale, with all performers coming together to present “We Are the World,” leaving the audience with a profound message of peace, solidarity, and collective responsibility.
