Chennai, April 4, 2026: Mr. Karthik Mohan, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) candidate representing the Secular Progressive Alliance for the Villivakkam Assembly constituency in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, filed his nomination today with Returning Officer at the Villivakkam RO Office in the presence of Chennai East District Secretary Mr. P. K. Sekarbabu. Also present on the occasion were Villivakkam MLA Mr. Vetriyazhagan, Villivakkam West Division Secretary Mr. Koo. P. Jain, and Villivakkam East Division Secretary Mr. V. Vasu, along with several key party functionaries and alliance leaders.
Prior to filing his nomination, Mr. Karthik Mohan, along with Mr. P. K. Sekarbabu and leaders of alliance parties, participated in a grand open-vehicle procession through the main streets of the Villivakkam constituency. Thousands of enthusiastic cadres and supporters from DMK, Congress, VCK, and Left parties gathered along the route, extending a warm welcome with flower showers and slogan-raising.
Addressing the media, Mr. P. K. Sekarbabu stated that Karthik Mohan is contesting with the blessings of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the support of alliance parties. He highlighted that over the past five years; several welfare schemes have been successfully implemented in the constituency under the DMK government and expressed confidence in securing a strong mandate once again.
Speaking after filing his nomination, Mr. Karthik Mohan said, “My goal is to transform Villivakkam into a model constituency. I will take the achievements of the DMK government to every household and secure a resounding victory.”A large number of district-level executives, area secretaries, local body representatives, and alliance party leaders were present during the event.
