Chennai, 23 February 2025: Phoenix Marketcity and Palladium Chennai witnessed an overwhelming response as fitness enthusiasts and socially conscious individuals came together for Unity Run 2025 – a marathon aimed at raising awareness on crucial social issues such as Road Safety, Mental Health, Women & Child Safety, No Food Waste, and Environmental Sustainability. The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 1,400 runners, making it a powerful movement for change.
The morning kicked off with an energetic Zumba session setting the perfect tone for the marathon. Kids and young adults joined in with enthusiasm, their energy and excitement turning the session into a vibrant celebration of movement and joy.
The 6 km Unity Run 2025 was officially flagged off by esteemed guests Mr. Girirajan, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Mr. Raj Prince Aaron, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Gowtham, State Deputy Secretary, School Development and Dr. Yazhini. Runners took off from Phoenix Marketcity, making their way via 100ft Road towards Velachery Railway Station, before looping back to the finish line at Phoenix Marketcity. The route was buzzing with energy as participants of all ages, from amateur runners to seasoned athletes, pushed their limits in support of the causes promoted by Unity Run 2025.
Demonstrating outstanding endurance and determination, Pragatheeswaran G (Bib No. 0852) secured 1st place, followed by Nithin Kumar M (Bib No. 1166) in 2nd place, and Tamilmani P (Bib No. 1630) in 3rd place. Their remarkable performances were a testament to the spirit of the event, inspiring fellow participants to push their boundaries and embrace fitness as a way of life.
Adding to the spirit of the event, leading sports brands such as ASICS, Reebok, Nike, Puma, Skechers, Speedo, and Adidas extended their support by opening their stores at 5:00 AM, ensuring runners had access to essential gear. As a special gesture, Skechers honoured top performers by awarding smart bottles with temperature control to the top 20 finishers and T-shirts to the next 30, enhancing motivation and commemorating their achievement.
