Gurit Wind Private Limited, Chennai Plant inauguration Ceremony held on 28th June 2022, at Greenbase Industrial and Logistics Park, Oragadam, Chennai.
Gurit, a leader in advanced composite solutions for the wind energy, marine and other industries is listed company in the stock exchange of Switzerland (SIX Swiss Exchange: GURN). Gurit Wind Private Limited, an Indian subsidiary of Gurit Group, Switzerland has established the manufacturing facility at Chennai for Composite Materials, Core Kitting, Tooling & Manufacturing Solutions and Structural Profiles business to serve the Wind Industry with an Investment of Rs. 250 crores in Plant and Machinery. The facility has been setup in 16 acres of land at Greenbase Industrial and Logistics Park (Hiranandani), Oragadam, with constructed area of more than 380,000 Sq. ft. This facility will provide employment for more than 300 direct employees and will generate multiple indirect employment opportunities in the region. Also, the company has expansion plans in future to manufacture more products for Wind Industry in India.
This Integrated Plant was inaugurated by Mr. Rudolf Hadorn, Chairman of Gurit Group and Mr. Mitja Schulz, CEO of Gurit Group, Switzerland.
The guests on the dais were Mr. Ernst Lutz, CTO of Gurit Group; Mr. Sanjay Madhavan, Honorary Consul of Switzerland; Mr. Sridhar Narayan, CEO of Hiranandani Group; Mr. Hemant Prabhu, COO of Greenbase Industrial and Logistics Park; Mr. DV Giri – Secretary General of Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association, Mr. Prashant Kshirsagar, Director of Gurit Wind Private Ltd, Mr. Dieter Jurczik, Head of Operations South Asia and Mr. Durga Prasad Amudalapalli, Managing Director of Gurit Wind Private Limited.

Mr. Mitja Schulz, CEO of Gurit Group quoted, “This facility in Chennai will be home to all our Gurit wind related activities like mould making, manufacturing solutions, extrusion of recycled PET, engineering and customizing of core material kits as well as pultruded carbon profiles which will then be converted to spar caps for wind blades for our customers. So, a lot of value add which Gurit is now having, is underneath one roof in this campus. Soon this will be Gurit’s biggest manufacturing plant on the planet”
