Venkat Prabhu, filmmaker and director, speaking to the Sony Sports Tamil Podcast Cricket Petta, shared: “I never expected my first movie to be about cricket. We used to play a lot of cricketers growing up. I am a decent player, played for my University and I have played for local clubs too. I am an off spinner and middle order batter and was a good hitter at that time. “
VENKAT PRABHU ON the impact of Cricket in his younger days
“We wanted to show Cheapuk Stadium in a new way. We wanted a fight scene on the roof. We actually shot in Trivandrum stadium as Chepauk has a canopy kind of roof. The bike riding sequence was actually shot in Trivandrum. I am a big fan of CSK and I wanted to see Actor Vijay Sir wearing a CSK jersey and it was a dream fulfilled.”
VENKAT PRABHU on shooting the climax scenes of the Blockbuster movie “G.O.A.T” and his love for CSK
“I used to be a huge Kapil Dev fan. Dhoni is also captain cool, very calm and doesn’t get angry at all. After Kapil retired, I became a fan of Sachin Tendulkar. He became the God of Cricket, scored a double century for the first time and the innings at Sharjah was epic.”
This interview with Venkat Prabhu will be going live on 20th November on Sony Sports Podcast.
