Chennai, 28th February,2025: Instilling positive awareness on road safety and safe driving habits in the city, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) celebrated 6thanniversary of the Children’s Traffic Training Park at Chennai, Tamil Nadu in the august presence of Mr. V. Sivakrishnamurthy, I.A.S. (Deputy Commissioner, Park Works Department) andMs. R. Vijayalakshmi (Department Head – Superintendent, Park – Department). Since its inception, the park has played a pivotal role in promoting road safety and enhancing traffic awareness among citizens.
In February 2019, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India in association with Greater Chennai Corporation inaugurated the traffic training park in Chennai. Situated in the heart of the city, the Children’s Road Safety Traffic Park has served as a beacon of education and practical training for participants. Its state-of-the-art facilities and interactive programs have empowered countless individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary for responsible and safe road behaviour.
Since its inception, around 1 lakh peopleacross all age groups have been trained at the traffic training park, enhancing road safety awareness in the city.
The 6th anniversary celebration is a testament to the park’s enduring impact on the community. The event featured engaging activities across diverse age groups including a Road safety awareness program forMitsubishi Electric and school activity for Velammal Matriculation High School.
For Mitsubishi Electric, the activities included Riding Trainer practical session, Safety Gear Awareness and Safety riding theory sessions aimed at reinforcing the importance of road safety. The students at Velammal Matriculation High School participated in interactive sessions such as Snake and Ladder game, Safety Riding animated theory session, bicycle activity, designed to instill road safety awareness in an engaging manner. They were also shown Safety Riding videos to further enhance their understanding of safe road behavior.
The event witnessed engagement of over 150 participants, offering them an opportunity to experience first-hand the various amenities offered by the park, including simulated road circuits, traffic signboards and virtual driving simulations.
As HMSI looks ahead to the future, it remains dedicated to further expanding the reach and impact of its Traffic Training Park in Chennai and beyond. Through continues collaboration with stakeholders and the community, the company aims to cultivate a culture of responsible road behaviour and ensure safer roads for generations to come.
