Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai launches a Basic Life Support Training Programme for the Local Community Through the Gleneagles Community Connect Initiative

Chennai, February 2023: In its ongoing commitment to community health and safety, Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai is pleased to announce the launch of its Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Program under the Gleneagles Community Connect Initiative. This program aims to equip members of the community with essential life-saving skills, ensuring they are prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations. The Gleneagles Community Connect was launched by Dr Nagesh Rao, CEO, Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai in the presence of Dr Sriram Rajamani, Head of the Emergency, Department of Accident & Emergency Medicine; Mr Bhaskar Reddy Vaka, Head (Corporate Relations), Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai and members from the residential societies in Chennai 

Initially, around 170 residential societies in Sholinganallur, Perumbakkam and Medavakkam with over 20 members in each society will get trained on the Basic life Support with comprehensive training in basic life support techniques, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, and techniques for aiding choking victims. Senior Medical Experts from Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai will offer hands-on training in a supportive learning environment.

“We are excited to introduce our Basic Life Support Training Program as part of our Community Connect Initiative,” said Dr. Nagesh K Rao, CEO, Gleneagles HealthCity Chennai. “Equipping members of our community with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively in emergency situations is crucial for saving lives. Through this program, we hope to empower individuals to become confident first responders.” Added Dr Nagesh K Rao. 

The BLS Training Program is open to individuals of all experience levels, including healthcare professionals, educators, parents, and community members. To ensure accessibility, the program will offer flexible scheduling options, including evening and weekend sessions.
