Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has organized 14th edition of TAN ENERGY SUMMIT & AWARDS on November 30, 2024 at Chennai.
Mr.M.Nandakumar convener, Energy Panel, FICCI TNSC & Managing Director, MANWIN Energy LLP, during his welcome address spoke at length about the growth of energy sector in Tamilnadu from the state of deficit to surplus over the years.
He also spoke about the vibrant economic growth in TamiNadu compared to national and global average and Chief Minister’s vision of one trillion GDP in 2030.
He spoke in detail about energy conservation, renewable resources potential to address the global energy requirement, technological advancement in terms of storage, offshore wind energy, Chief Minister’s focus on the growth of energy sector and other welcome developments.
Mr.M.Umapathi, CMD, Voltech Group spoke about energy transition, climate change and growth potential. He spoke about our country’s renewable energy growth to 191 gigawatts, from meagre 15 megawatts 10 years ago.
He said that we would be able to achieve the target of 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030 and one trillion watts by 2035 with the support of state and central governments.
He elaborated on the country’s steady growth in terms of achieving green energy targets, reducing carbon emissions and presented a broader outlook of a vibrant renewable energy growth in Tamil Nadu.
Mr.R. Venkatesh, Group CEO,, Ever renew Energy Pvt Ltd, spoke about healthy renewable energy scenario in Tamilnadu.. He spoke about the offshore wind energy potential in Tamilnadu and Gujarat. He also emphasized on development of infrastructure of ports, specialized vessels and skilled manpower for the growth of offshore wind energy sector.
Mr.Bhupesh Nagarajan, Co-Chairman, FICCI TNSC & CMD, Indira Projects, spoke about the importance of energy in all walks of our life. He said that our country has potential to achieve six fold economic growth and emphasized the need to develop infrastructure, energy and skilled manpower that are vital for growth.
He spoke in detail about the need for skilled manpower and the need to evolve policies to train the manpower and make best use of abundant manpower resources of our country. He also spoke about Tamilnadu government’s initiatives to develop renewable energy sector and emphasized that we should focus on bringing innovationsand inventions on all fronts.
As Co-Chair of FICCI,, he has assured FICCI’s commitment to collaborate with government, industries and other stakeholders to drive innovation, facilitate partnership and shape policy to accelerate growth in the energy sector.
