Drug Awareness Campaign conducted at St. Mary’s Girls Matriculation Higher Secondary School

Chennai, February28, 2025 – In a concerted effort to address the growing concerns of substance abuse among youth, a drug awareness campaign was conducted at St. Mary’s Girls Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Perambur, Chennai. The initiative aimed to educate students on the adverse effects of drug abuse and encourage them to lead a drug-free life.

During the event, students actively participated by holding placards with powerful awareness messages and taking a pledge to combat drug misuse. A key highlight of the session was a demonstration of the Tamil Nadu government’s “Drug-Free Tamil Nadu” mobile application. The app was introduced as a crucial tool that allows users to confidentially report drug-related offenses, thereby contributing to a safer and healthier community.

This initiative by the Anti-Drug Club of Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, launched at St. Mary’s Girls Matriculation Higher Secondary School, is set to expand its reach to schools and colleges in and around Chennai. Through this widespread effort, the program seeks to spread awareness, foster a culture of vigilance, and promote a drug-free environment among students.

With such proactive measures, the campaign underscores the importance of community participation in tackling substance abuse and shaping a safer future for the younger generation.
