Cultural Extravaganza at Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College Celebrates Talent & Creativity

Cultural events at Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College, Perambur, have consistently showcased creativity, talent, and cultural diversity, and this year’s event continued that tradition with enthusiasm. A spectacular two-day cultural event, Kalakiran & Chainika, was organized on August 16th and 17th, 2024. The event brought together students from various disciplines to showcase their artistic talents and foster a sense of unity and shared heritage.

Kalakiran, the first day of the event, commenced with an inauguration ceremony. Tharika Sri A. J, President, welcomed the gathering, followed by felicitations from the Managing Trustee & Correspondent, Thiru. L. Palamalai I.A.S. (Retd.), who encouraged students to explore and diversify their interests.

Dr. V. V. Meenakshi Jayakumar, Principal, Tamil Isai Kalloori, and Mr. Thambiraj, Managing Director, KKR Builders, served as the Chief Guests. Dr. Meenakshi, in her address, acclaimed the college’s commitment to holistic student development through platforms like these. In his address, Mr. Thambiraj, commended the Correspondent, Thiru. L. Palamalai I.A.S. (Retd.), for the efforts made in providing students with the necessary resources and facilities to prepare for IAS exams. He also appreciated the dedication of the college and teachers toward empowering the student community and society through education. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ansy Philio Saaron. A, Cultural Coordinator.

The stage was brought to life with a range of captivating performances that spanned various art forms. From graceful classical dances to contemporary artistic renditions, the event was a true showcase of creative excellence. Renowned Music Director, Mr. Vijaya Narayanan, along with Mr. K. J. Paresh Baba, Mr. S. Praveen Kumar, Mr. Samson, Dr. S. Rakesh, and Mrs. S. Aarthi Nirmal were the judges. Notable alumnae and teachers from schools in North Chennai were invited as judges, in a gesture of honour and recognition for their contributions.

The second day, Chainika, began with an inauguration ceremony. Charumathi P, Cultural Secretary, welcomed the gathering. The Principal, Dr. S. Sridevi, extended her felicitations. The vote of thanks was delivered by Durga. V, Vice President. The event featured electrifying performances by participants from various colleges. The event was graced by Chief Guests Mr. K. Rajavel, Director, and Mr. K. Santhosh Balaji, Singer & Music Producer. Mrs. Ramalakshmi Murugan, Mrs. Shanthi Narasimman, Mr. K. Jaya Krishnan and Mr. Sethu Raman were the judges of the events.

The cultural fest concluded with the announcement of the overall championship by Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal. Many colleges participated in the competitions, including teams from both shifts of several colleges. The event once again highlighted CTTE College’s dedication to nurturing talent and promoting cultural activities.
