Chennai, October 2023: A Heart Shaped Human Chain was organized on Sunday by Apollo Speciality Hospitals Vanagaram, TAVI Team Vanagaram and The Rotary Club of Anna Nagar Madras along with the participants to mark World Heart Day.
Dr. Harikrishnan Parthasarathy (Interventional Cardiologist and Head of TAVI Team Apollo Hospitals Vanagaram) along with South Film Celebrities, Mirugham Aadhi and NikkiiGalrani Pinisetty lead the participants, at Marina Beach Chennai on October 1st 2023.
Inspirational leaders in the field of Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Anaesthesia, and Medical Administration also participated in this awareness activity.
Speaking on the occasion of the event to celebrate World Heart Day, Dr. Harikrishnan Parthasarathy, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Head of TAVI Team Apollo Hospitals Vanagaram, said “The aim of the Heart Shaped Human Chain event is to create awareness of heart attacks and Aortic Valve diseases. Noting that there has been an alarming increase in the number of people who suffer from various heart diseases.”
“Regular exercises, healthy diet, avoiding bad habits, and regular master health checkups and identifying and treatment of hypertension, Dyslipidemia and Diabetes.” he further added.
Dr Rahul Menon, CEO & Director Medical Services, said “As a responsible healthcare provider, not only is it our duty to see that we tend to those who have fallen ill, we have taken a bigger responsibility of creating awareness and helping everyone to stay in their best of health. With the rise in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in India in recent times, public awareness initiatives such as this are essential.”
The entire team from Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Vanagaram, including doctors and staff, along with 100s of volunteers took part in this event. This year’s theme is prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases and spread awareness of heart health. The participants formed a human chain in the shape of a heart, curated by a professional artist, following which each of them carried a message about how to prevent heart diseases.
