Advertising Club Madras Launches its Revamped PG Diploma Course in Advertising

Advertising Club Madras, a premier and one of the oldest associations for advertising professionals in India, has launched its revamped Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising (PGDA) for 2023-24 academic year, with the new syllabus focusing on the latest trends, technologies, and strategies that are shaping the advertising industry. 

This part time course, which has been a fountainhead of advertising talent since 1994, is designed for a duration of 3 months, with 20 hours per month. The PGDA course for 2023-24 will kickstart on December 2, 2023 and will conclude by mid- March 2024. Enrollments are open for all individuals from November 10, 2023 onwards. The last date to apply is November 25, 2023. 

The classes will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays for a duration of 2.5 hours per day. PGDA is ideal for students who want to get jobs in advertising, digital marketing, and Public Relations agencies, besides media houses. The modules will be conducted by who’s who from the advertising and media industry.

Commenting about the launch of the updated course, Mr. S. Balasubramanian, President, said that the highlight of the course is that it features an industry-relevant curriculum that focuses on latest trends, technologies, and strategies shaping the advertising industry. “This will help our students to leverage the strengths of online and social media to maximise the reach of their advertising campaigns.”

In his comments, Mr. Surej Salim, Secretary, said that the course will have weekly interactive sessions with industry experts, and students will be given career guidance and internship opportunities at renowned agencies. Besides networking events will be organised regularly for the students to connect with professionals in the industry. 

Ms. Kavitha Srinivasan, Joint Secretary, said that the modules are designed in a way that cover the entire gamut of various specialisations in advertising. The teaching will include lectures with audio-visual aids, case studies, demonstrations and visits to the hot spots in the field. Towards the end of the course, you will have an internship in a reputed organisation to work on a project. 

The core modules of the PGDA are: basics of advertising, account management, creative, brand management, production (a) printing technology & multi-color processing (b) ad film making (c) photography, media, social media and digital media, public relations, and soft skills.

Since its launch in 1994, the program has trained around 400 students, most of whom are now occupying leading positions in the industry. PGDA is ideal for final year students of any UG/PG course, fresh graduates, startup entrepreneurs and anybody who is interested to learn effective advertising techniques.
