Chennai:
Surya Roshni Limited, one of India’s most trusted names in professional lighting, consumer lighting, wires & cables, fans, home appliances, PVC pipes, water pumps, water tanks, and steel pipes, continues to strengthen its presence in large-scale urban infrastructure projects through its contribution to Chennai Metro Phase II.
As part of Corridor 4 (Orange Line) of Chennai Metro Phase II, Surya Roshni has supplied professional-grade LED lighting solutions for the elevated stretch from Power House to Poonamallee Bypass, which includes 18 elevated stations and one depot. The first operational section of this corridor, between Poonamallee and Porur, is expected to commence operations in January 2026, marking a significant milestone in Chennai’s urban mobility expansion.
Further expanding its engagement, under Corridor 5 (Pink Line)—stretching from Koyambedu Market Metro to Elcot Park Metro—Surya Roshni is slated to supply LED lighting solutions for 22 upcoming elevated stations, forming part of the next phase of execution under Chennai Metro Phase II.
Both corridors are integral to Chennai Metro Rail Limited’s broader Phase II, aimed at decongesting arterial routes, improving last-mile connectivity, and supporting the city’s long-term urban growth.
Commenting on the development, the Senior Leadership Team at Surya Roshni Limited said, “Large-scale metro projects demand consistency, compliance, and long-term performance assurance. Our contribution to Chennai Metro Phase II reflects our focus on delivering reliable LED lighting solutions that align with the operational needs of complex urban infrastructure.”
With growing participation across metro rail, highways, and public infrastructure projects, Surya Roshni continues to strengthen its position as a lighting solutions partner within India’s evolving infrastructure ecosystem.
