“Meditation is no longer a luxury for the world at large,” Gurudev said. “When a third of our population is suffering from loneliness and half of our population is suffering from mental health issues, there is something that we need to do that can help us connect with ourselves. That can help us get rid of all the stress that we carry. Here comes the role of meditation.”
On the occasion of the second World Meditation Day as declared by the United Nations General Assembly last year, the global spiritual master and humanitarian leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar gave a call for the world to embrace this timeless practice in an increasingly restless world, from the halls of United Nations Geneva on Wednesday. In his address Gurudev expressed gratitude to the 192 nations that ratified the resolution for the UN General Assembly to make the declaration.
This year, Gurudev on December 21, will lead a short meditation from the iconic Oculus at the World Trade Center, New York, at 8.30 PM IST telecast in his youtube channel and anyone can join at meditate.artofliving.org
