Chennai, September 18, 2025: The EA Bridge International Bridge Championships, 2025 at Express Avenue Mall entered an exciting new phase on Day 4 as the Quarterfinal Knockoutscommenced, bringing together top teams and players in intense battles across formats. The event, held under the aegis of the Bridge Federation of India, continues to draw global talent, electrifying audiences with world-class competition.
This is the first time in the world that an international bridge event of this scale is being held inside a mall. Led by Ms. Kavita Singhania, Managing Director of Express Group of Companies, the game has been elevated to a higher level with Express Avenue mall hosting the Championship in a space that combines world-class infrastructure with the warmth and energy of one of India’s most vibrant cities. At the heart of this idea was a vision to bring the game closer to the people — to make Bridge more visible, more accessible, and more celebrated.
Gold Segment
The heavyweights demonstrated their class as Team Monica Jajoo, Poland, Dhampur Sugar Mills, Tornatae, and Shri Radhey recorded convincing victories to secure their quarterfinal berths. Among the visiting contingents, **Nest Inn, Mavericks, and Team Tolani impressed with hard-fought wins — with Mavericks in particular making a bold statement with their dominant performance.
Silver Segment
The Silver Teams saw a display of commanding performances. Team Nagpur VI powered ahead with a century win, while KKK Bridge Lovers celebrated a massive 113-IMP triumph. Other successful contenders included DilipAtha IV, Unity, Gladiators, Alchemy, Lake My Love, and Mind Crusaders, ensuring a strong mix of seasoned and emerging teams moving forward.
Match Point Pairs
For teams exiting the Pre-Quarterfinals, opportunities continued through the Open Matchpoint Pairs (subject to pre-registration).
● The 1st Elimination attracted 73 pairs, where Russian veterans Andrey Gromov – Anna Gulevich topped the leaderboard. The sibling duo Prahalad Rajkumar – Raghavendra Rajkumar secured the runner-up position.
● The top 36 pairs now advance to the next stage: a three-session, 54-board contest at the Central Mall Arena.
The IMP Pairs, which drew an impressive 96 pairs, saw Wanna Amornmeswarintara – Panjaroon Jariyanuntanaet (Thailand) clinch victory, while Dasgupta – Pallab Roy finished runners-up. A total of eight prizes were awarded in this segment, showcasing the depth of global participation.
