Export Inspection Council participates in MPEDA’S First – Ever Seafood Expo Bharat in Chennai

Export Inspection Council (Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India) is an advisory body to the Central Government, organised Exhibition Stall at MPEDA’ First-Ever Seafood Expo Bharat in ChennaiOver 3,000 delegates and buyers from different countries expected to attend the three-day event Chennai, Tamil Nadu from July 1 to 3, 2025, at the Chennai Trade Centre.

The EIC operates through its field organizations i.e. Export Inspection Agencies (EIAs) exercise quality control and inspection in respect of products notified under Export (Quality Control And Inspection) Act, 1963, in order to ensure that the products meant for export are in compliance to the importing country’s requirements.

Jayapalan G, Deputy Director (Incharge) of Export Inspection Agency-Chennai. D. Peer Mohamed, Assistant Director In charge of Laboratory and Dr. Avhik BishnuAssistant Director In charge of Fish and Fishery Products Scheme coordinated along with other officials of EIA Chennai in establishing the stall at MPEDA’ First-Ever Seafood Expo Bharat 2025 in Chennai from 01-03 July 2025.

Export Inspection Council, stall exhibits various its activities, facilities, national and international recognition and functions delivering to the Sea Food Industry. MPEDA organised this as a flagship event for India’s seafood sector, SEB 2025 aims to bring together a wide spectrum of stakeholders — from Aqua Farmers, hatchery operators and feed millers to aquaculture equipment manufacturers, seafood processors, exporters, investors, and policymakers. The event is featured over 78 exhibition stalls and anticipates attracting more than 3,000 delegates and buyers from 25 countries.

EIC is working for fulfilling the requirements of importing countries and overseas trade partners through its five-field office EIA-Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi , Chennai and Kolkata.  All the five EIA having state of art laboratories to meet and verify the different importing countries regulatory requirements.
