Rotary International District 3234, District Governor N.S.Saravanan, chairman community womens Health Rtn.PP Ajitha Balan successfully organised a cancer awareness and screening program at M.G.R Janaki college Adyar on 4th February.
The event, held in observance of World Cancer Day, aimed to educate the community on the importance of early detection and prevention of cancer and save lives. The program featured esteemed guests, D.G Rtn. N. S. Saravanan, District Governor 24-25, Dr. Ravi Varma .Chairman community Health, Rotaract Chairman Rtn Kumar Rajendran,MLA sri Tha. Velu Mylapore constituency ,Dr. Sarita, Oncologist and Cancer Specialist and Rtn. Lakshmi Priya(President of premier club).
The event saw an overwhelming response from the community, with close to 100 plus participants undergoing free cancer screening. The program also included interactive sessions, workshops which provided valuable information on cancer prevention, detection, and treatment.
“We are thrilled with the success of this event, which demonstrates our commitment to spreading awareness and promoting early detection of cancer,” said Rtn. Past President Ajitha Balan.
