Chennai, 26th October 2023: Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (PVPL), a 100% subsidiary of the Italian auto giant Piaggio Group and India’s leading manufacturer of small commercial vehicles, announced the launch of the all-new passenger 3-wheeler EV, Apé E-city FX NE Max in Tamil Nadu. The Apé E-city FX NE Max is the first Piaggio 3-wheeler passenger EV to receive approval fromthe state transport authority in the state of Tamil Nadu, making it a category entrant for the market. The new vehicle was unveiled by Mr Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd,and Mr. Amit Sagar, EVP – Commercial Vehicles, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd.
As pioneers of India’s 3W EV revolution, Piaggio Vehicles has yet again taken steps to revolutionize Tamil Nadu’s EV landscape by introducing the city’s first 3W Passenger vehicle EV – Apé E-city FX NE Max. This vehicle promises to transform last-mile passenger transportation while prioritizing sustainability, earnability, higher driving range, and cost-effectiveness. This EV is fully assembled by an all-women team at Piaggio’s Baramati factory.
The new Apé E-city FX NE Max has a superior driving range of 145km (+ 5kms), a 12-inch tyre size offering better ground clearance, and improved grade ability among other advancements. Available as a fixed battery solution, the Apé E-city FX NE Max boasts of superior Italian design legacy with a new and attractive bezel and eye-catching graphics.
The new Apé E-city FX NE Max comes with advanced battery performance resulting in a longer range, enhanced earnings, and effective cost of ownership. The vehicle also has a reserve range of up to 5 kms, to combat range anxiety. Piaggio Apé E-city FX NE Max also comes with zero noise and vibrations, ensuring a fatigue-free riding experience for its driver and the utmost comfort for the passenger. Bigger tyres of 12 inches give drivers a better ride and handling experience and control over rough, uneven road conditions making the journey safer as well as accessible to remote destinations. To provide better visibility and control while driving, the vehicle’s seat height has also been adjusted. Advanced telematics 2.0 gives drivers better navigation and allows fleet owners to track and manage the fleet with utmost efficiency.
