Chennai, 4 February 2023: Dr Mehta’s Hospitals, a leader in healthcare service, today celebrates 90 years of healthcare service, collaboration, and social responsibility. As a part of the celebrations, the institution released a 90th-year souvenir book and awarded clinicians and staff who spent decades of dedication and relentless service.
The landmark 90th-year Souvenir Book was released by the healthcare industry stalwarts such as Giridhar Gyani – “Quality Man of India” Director General Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI); Dr Alexander Thomas – “Equitable Healthcare for the Needy” President Association of Healthcare Providers India; Dr Venkatesh Thuppil – “Lead Man of India” CEO and the Director of the Foundation for Quality India (FQI) and the Director of the National Referral Centre for Lead Projects in India (NRCLPI) and Anu Hasan – Entrepreneur, Writer and Actress.
Speaking at the occasion, Sameer Mehta, The Vice Chairman of Dr Mehta’s, said, “We are happy to receive the unique artwork representing the sea and sky encompassed in the ecosystem, gifted by the Chennai-based art prodigy, Isaiarasi, on this landmark day. The artwork resonates well with Dr Mehta’s vision to deliver and uplift the healthcare in our communities.”
Dr Mehta’s 90th anniversary is a celebration of the continuous healthcare journey that has enabled Dr Mehta’s to impact many people’s lives in and around Chennai positively. During its rich history since being founded in 1933 in Chennai, the institution has continuously reinvented itself to remain relevant to society.
The zeal that Dr A J Mehta, Dr Mrs Savitha Ben and their successor Dr Usha Shukla brought on to the people, putting them in the foreground, speaks volumes about the achievement of Dr Mehta’s Hospitals, without which none of today’s breakthroughs would be possible.
“It is no mean feat to offering quality healthcare services successfully for nine decades. Very few hospitals in India enjoy this privilege, and Dr Mehta’s Hospitals is one of the few specials,” added Dr Girdhar Gyani, President of AHPI.

In 90 years of healthcare service, Dr Mehta’s Hospitals has successfully conducted over 2.5 million surgeries, delivered over a million babies, and is the leader in clinical outcomes. The institution has treated three generations in thousands of families in 90 years of healthcare service. Today the institution is expanding by leaps and bounds with the inclusion of the Fertility Center & IVF and Department of Cardiac Sciences scheduled for this month.
