Chennai, 3th July 2022 : The 21st Graduation Ceremony for presenting the degrees and awards to the grandaunts of Easwari Engineering College, Chennai held at TRP Auditorium, in Easwari Engineering College, Ramapuram, Chennai. Dr. Mamta Rani Agarwal, Advisor I, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi was the Chief Guest and Dr.R.Shivakumar, Chairman, SRM Group of Institutions Ramapuram and Trichy Campuses presided over the ceremony.
Chief Guest Dr. Mamta Rani Agarwal, Advisor I, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, delivered the convocation address by congratulating the rank holders. She dwelt at length the importance of education in the current scenario. “It is not just something you do to advance in life”. She advised the grandaunt Engineers the need to embrace a broader vision of the professional role to inevitable progress of the nation with innovation and leadership qualities. She also advised that, every Engineer needs to adapt to the changes that are taking place in the global economy. She also stressed the need for new outcome based learning by pursing professional ethics and accountability. She advised the grandaunts to enhance their communication skills and also develop managerial quality which is very important in the present global scenario.
The Principal of the College, Dr.R.S.Kumar presented the Annual report which highlighted the significant contribution of the College in creating young engineers and technocrats for the nation building activity and pointed out to 2022 as the Silver Jubilee Year of the college. 1017 Students received their degrees in Doctorates PG and UG courses 60 students have achieved University ranks topper awards.
The College has been accredited by leading industries and has been considered as the preferred destination for Campus recruitment. More than 283 companies like TCS, Wipro, L&T Infotech etc have visited our campus and a record number of 920 students have been placed till date for the academic year.
The Departments of ‘Computer Science and Engineering’, ‘Electrical and Electronics Engineering’, ‘Electronics and Communication Engineering’, ‘Mechanical Engineering’ ‘English’ ‘Mathematics’, ‘Physics’, ‘Computer Applications’ and ‘Chemistry’ have been approved as Nodal Centers for Research by Anna University, Chennai for pursuing M.S.(Research) and Ph.D.
The college has imparted a special value added training programme to students to make them employable by have signing MOU’s with leading industries. Our institution is certified by SIRO and funded by FIST. The institution has received more than 5 crores of research grants from various funding agencies such as DST, DRDO, AERB, and AICTE. Rs.2 crores worth funded projects has been successfully completed. Research proposals worth 2 cores are in the pipeline. Easwari Engineering College is one among the elite groups for promoting quality standards in line with Anna University and IIT.
The strength of our academic performance is on 235 faculty members of whom about 50% are Ph.D holders and the remaining are pursuing the degree. As a part of providing quality education and quality assurance, apart from academic ambience the college provides opportunities and funds for entrepreneurs, innovations and start-ups.
