CHENNAI, JUNE 2026: Emerging badminton players from Hatsun Badminton Centre delivered an impressive performance at the Tamil Nadu State Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament 2026 held in Courtallam, securing a total of five medals, including one Gold, three Silver and one Bronze.
The standout performance came in the Men’s Singles category, where both finalists, J.T. Sachin and Lesslee Roy, represented Hatsun Badminton Centre. In a thrilling all-academy final, J.T. Sachin clinched the Gold Medal. Adding to the tally, J. Tanya Abigail secured a Silver Medal in Women’s Doubles, while Reeva Evangelin M. claimed Silver in Mixed Doubles. Srimeenakshi and Hashini S. rounded off the medal haul with a Bronze Medal in Women’s Doubles.

The strong performance at the State Senior Ranking Tournament adds to the growing list of achievements by players training at the centre, which also nurtured Rithvik Sanjeevi, the reigning Senior Men’s Singles NationalChampion. Rithvik made history as the first player from Tamil Nadu to win both the U-17 Boys’ Singles gold medal at the 2019 All India Sub-Junior National Badminton Championships in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and the Men’s Singles title at the 2025 All India Senior National Badminton Championships in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The badminton centre is part of the Hatsun Sports Complex, a multi-sport training facility featuring world-class badminton, tennikoit, and chess academies. The academy provides athletes with access to professional coaching, high-performance training infrastructure, a modern gymnasium, a swimming pool, an athletics track, and recovery facilities.
