CTTE College marks 150 Years of Vande Mataram with Human Chain

To mark the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Perambur, organised a human chain formation on its campus on January 23, 2026. The initiative was aimed at promoting patriotism, unity and a sense of collective responsibility among students.

Students from the Music, Dance, Event Management, Photography and Social Media clubs coordinated the event, with active participation from students across the college. The formation symbolised unity in diversity and national integration.

A dress code was followed to enhance the visual impact: first-year students wore white, second-year students green, and third-year students saffron, while council members and postgraduate students were dressed in navy blue.

The event highlighted the values associated with Vande Mataram and India’s freedom movement, including unity, discipline and patriotic consciousness, and concluded with students reaffirming their role as responsible citizens.
