Parvathy Hospital successfully hosted the 6th edition of its annual Walkathon – “Miles of Smiles” today at the MIT Sports Ground, Chromepet, on Sunday morning at 6:00 a.m. The event drew over 6,000 participants, marking the largest edition to date and reaffirming the hospital’s enduring commitment to health, inclusion, and community spirit. The event was inaugurated by E. Karunanithi, MLA – Pallavaram Constituency, and Mr. K. Saravana Kumar, the Consulate General of Malaysia.
What began as a meaningful initiative for patients recovering from knee, hip, and spine surgeries has evolved into a vibrant movement for holistic well-being and togetherness. The 2025 edition celebrated the power of family, encouraging participants to walk, run, or cheer — symbolising resilience, unity, and the joy of movement.
The Walkathon featured 1 km, 3 km, and 5 km categories, welcoming participants across all ages and physical abilities. Families, children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities joined hands — truly reflecting the event’s message of inclusion and shared strength.
Speaking at the event, Dr. S. Muthukumar, Founder and Chairman of Parvathy Hospital, said: “The Walkathon has grown into a movement of hope and solidarity. This year’s record participation reaffirms the power of community and the importance of standing together for inclusion. Every step taken today was a step towards a society where no one is left behind, and we are proud to be driving this change.”
The Walkathon 2025 was more than an event — it was a celebration of the human spirit, a tribute to the beauty of diversity, and a reminder that hope can move us forward, one step at a time.
