VGN Heritage Springz Launches ‘Ini Oru Nizhal Seivom’ Tree Plantation Drive to Promote Green Living in Ottiyambakkam

VGN Heritage Springz, a premium layout of ready-to-move housing plots at Ottiyambakkam near Medavakkam, marked a milestone with the launch of ‘Ini Oru Nizhal Seivom’ (Let’s Create a Shade), a green initiative that features over 800 saplings across 4.85-acre, the first-phase of the project site.

Mrs. L. Sridevi, Additional Director, Rural Development, Chengalpet District, Government of Tamil Nadu, & Mrs. Saranya Veerababu, President, Ottiyambakkam Panchayat jointly launched the drive by planting a tree today. The plantation features local specieschosen for their environmental benefits, shade, and long-term sustainability.

The initiative, carried out in association with MSS Trust, an environmental NGO, is designed as a long-term effort. VGN plans to extend the plantation drive to the upcoming second phase of Heritage Springz, spread across five acres, and is funding the creation of over 5,000 saplings in and around Ottiyambakkam. MSS Trust will play a key role by mobilising volunteers, coordinating plantation activities, and ensuring the sustained care of the trees.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Padma Devadoss, Director, and Ms. Anusha Ashyanth, CEO of VGN Group, said the initiative goes beyond real estate promotion. “We are not just plot promoters; we see ourselves as community builders. Housing today is not only about providing land but about creating spaces where families can thrive, where nature has its rightful place, and where sustainability is part of everyday living. VGN Heritage Springz, strategically located near Medavakkam Junction and Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), is spread across 4.85 acres and offers 101 premium lifestyle plots in sizes ranging from 750 to 1,200 square feet. Priced at ₹5,499 per sq. ft., the meticulously planned development caters to the growing demand for eco-friendly and well-structured living spaces in Chennai’s fast-developing southern corridor.

The project keeps residents well connected to the city’s major corridors, while offering a range of thoughtfully designed features. These include a pergola entry wall, amphitheatre, jogging track with reflexology pathway, senior citizens’ court, sandpit and play area for children, hopscotch seating, cricket net and a half basketball court. Infrastructure such as underground EB connections with transformers, solar-powered LED street lighting and storm-water trenches further highlight the project’s emphasis on sustainability and convenience.
