The Postgraduate Department of Commerce at Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women organised a one-day National Conference on Digital Pathways: to Foster Inclusive and Resilient Economy on September 19, 2025, bringing together experts from academia and industry to explore the role of digital innovation in shaping inclusive economic development.
The event began with a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome from Dr. Hajeema Rabiath Beevi S, Head of the Postgraduate Department of Commerce. Dr. S. Durga Devi introduced the theme, highlighting the need for digital strategies that support economic resilience and equitable growth.
In her felicitation address, Mrs. J. Catherine, IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of Computer Science, emphasised India’s digital roadmap towards becoming a $5 trillion economy. She cited national initiatives such as Digital India, ONDC, PM-WANI, Naan Mudhalvan, and Gati Shakti, while encouraging students to embrace interdisciplinary learning between commerce and computer science.
Mr. C.S. Charles Abraham, Senior Technical Project Manager at Persistent Systems, Chennai, delivered the keynote address. He spoke about the transformative potential of FinTech, UPI, microloans, and digital governance in promoting financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.
In his plenary session, Mr. Ananda, technologist, examined the growing influence of digital platforms like Netflix, Amazon, and ChatGPT. He urged students to become active participants in the digital economy.
Dr. N. Devi Sangamithra from Saveetha Engineering College gave an invited talk on cybersecurity, digital banking, and QR code–based payment systems, highlighting how digital infrastructure can reach even small-scale vendors on highways.
The conference saw the submission of 40 research papers, with 12 selected for presentation. Topics included FinTech innovations, governance models, and inclusive entrepreneurship. Dr. K. Rajalakshmi, Assistant Professor of Economics, evaluated the presentations.
Dr. Sudha Srikanth, Placement Officer, delivered the valedictory address, calling for stronger digital training efforts to support the underemployed. Closing remarks were given by Mrs. J. Ramya, followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. J. Gayathiri.
The conference concluded on a high note, reaffirming CTTE College’s commitment to promoting value-based, interdisciplinary, and future-ready education through academic and industry collaboration.
