Chennai, February, 2025 – In a remarkable display of unity, Rotary Clubs from RI District 3233, led by the Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos, joined hands to support the Indian Coast Guard’s Raising Day celebration. The Indian Coast Guard organized a Special Coastal Clean-up Drive & Awareness Campaign, with Rotarians participating to honour the true heroes in service while also highlighting the importance of clean shores and marine conservation. Theunique initiative coordinated by Born To Win Research Foundation Trust was held on 17th morning, with participation from Rotary leaders, volunteers from schools and Coast Guard Officers, who worked alongside each other to clean the beach and spread awareness.
Rotary International District 3233 Governor Rtn. Mahaveer Bothra, who was amazed by the unity of the Rotary clubs coming together for this initiative, emphasized,
“Rotary is committed to supporting the environment, peace-building & water sanitation & Hygiene. This coastal cleanup drive beautifully aligns with all three of these core focus areas, making it a thoughtful project. I deeply thank DIG Satish Kumar & I appreciate the Indian Coast Guard for giving our district this opportunity to contribute to a cleaner and safer coastline. It is truly our great honour and pride to undertake a project with real heroes. It is through such collaborations that we strengthen our resolve to create lasting change.”
Speaking about the initiative, Rtn. Radhika Dhruv, President of the Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos, said,

The event featured a brief inaugural ceremony, where Deputy Inspector General Satish Kumar honoured the Chief Guest, Shri. MP Amith, IAS, Regional Deputy Commissioner (South), Smt. Varsha Aswani, Founder & Managing Trustee of the Born to Win Research Foundation Trust, DG Rtn. Mahaveer Bothra of Rotary International District 3233, and Rtn. Radhika Dhruv, President of the Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos. During the event, the officers also educated the gathering about the significance of marine life and the crucial role everyone plays in its conservation.
