08/02/24, Chennai: The “Siddha Wellness Rally and Awareness Campaign” (SWARC), organized by the National Institute of Siddha (NIS) and Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) under the Ministry of Ayush, reached Tambaram, Chennai today on its journey from New Delhi to Kanyakumari. This transformative bike expedition aims to raise awareness about the benefits of Siddha medicine, an ancient Indian system, and its potential for holistic healthcare.
On February 5th evening, the bikers arrived in Tambaram Sanatorium, continuing their journey from NIS/CCRS on February 6th morning. Spreading the message further, they held a Siddha Medical and Awareness camp at the newly inaugurated Kilambakkam Bus Terminus on February 6th morning.
500 Siddha medical kits and informative materials were distributed to the public, police personnel, and workers present at the bus stand. The kits, containing essentials like [details of kit contents], served as a tangible introduction to Siddha practices.
Continuing their southward journey, the bikers reached Puducherry by evening, leaving a trail of awareness in their wake. This initiative exemplifies the Ministry of Ayush’s commitment to promoting India’s traditional systems of medicine and ensuring holistic healthcare access for all.
Covering approximately 3,333 kilometers, the 20-day SWRAC features 20 bikers and 2 support bikers acting as ambassadors for Siddha medicine. With 21 awareness camps planned along the route, they offer consultations, distribute medical kits, and educate the public about Siddha’s principles and practices.
This ongoing expedition serves as a powerful reminder of the potential of traditional Indian medicine to contribute to public health and well-being.
