The XXXIX College Day of Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, Perambur, Chennai was held on March 01, 2024. The Principals andVice Principals from various institutions graced the event with their presence. Mrs. K. Swarna, Head, Department of Accounting & Finance, welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests of the day. Managing Trustee and Correspondent, Thiru L. Palamalai, I.A.S (Retd), delivered the Presidential Address. In his address, he urged the students to cultivate passion, encouraging them to pursue their goals and make use of skill development courses. He also expressed his happiness for the laurels brought to the college by the students. Principal Dr. S. Sridevi presented the Annual Report of the academic year 2023-24. In her report, she highlighted the curricular, research, Outreach and extension programs for community development and activities reinforcing nation building by the college.
The Chief Guest of the day, Dr. S. Niranjani Devaraj, Former Professor and Head, Former UGC – BSR Faculty Fellow, Emeritus Scientist, ICMR Department of Biochemistry, University of Madras, Guindy Campus, delivered the College Day Address. In her address, she commended the college for its remarkable growth and transformation. She emphasized the necessity to learn and relearn continuously citing instances from medical research. She reiterated that learning is a continuous process. Her address concluded with a heartfelt wish for the college to transition into an exclusively women’s university.
As the finale of the 39th College Day, students who had excelled in academics, sports, and fine arts were appreciated and awarded.
