It is worth to mention that our country is recycling nearly 75% of plastic and is setting a good example to others. This makes India rich in raw materials for plastic manufacturing.
“Although India has abundance of raw material and potential in manufacturing plastics, there is still an import of finished plastic products of worth nearly 35,000 crores. This importing has to be eradicated so that we can promote ‘Make in India’ and create more sustainable market. AIPMA, a strong association with more than 25000 members are keen in achieving it” he added
“The GDP of our nation is 8% and within that 16% is contributed by plastic industries. Many MSME’s are mostly plastic industries. This is only because of flexibility in investment. Anyone with 2 lakh can start a plastic company meanwhile one can invest in crores as either has got a market and demand in specific. There are around 1.25 lakhs of plastic industries with nealy 52 lakhs of employees.
