Meet the solar artist from Tamil Nadu, Who uses the sun to ‘paint’ art, only on HistoryTV18

Meet Vignesh from Tamil Nadu who creates art using the sun and magnifying glass. Watch this mesmerising artist in action on the next episode of ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’ this Thursday, 16th of February at 8 PM, only on HistoryTV18. Based in Mayiladuthurai, Vignesh practises pyrography, also known as ‘fire art,’ ‘heat painting,’ ‘poker art’ or ‘wood burning’, in which he uses a magnifying glass to turn sunlight into a ‘paintbrush’ and uses its heat to sear imagery onto wooden surfaces. By positioning the glass at particular and various angles, Vignesh creates different ‘strokes’ for burning the top layer of wood creating varying patterns that come together to form art.
