Globalart’s 16th National Competition Around 800 children from across the country participated

Chennai, November 2023:  Globalart India’s 16thNational Competition – Kolor Champ ‘23 witnessed participation from almost 800 children belonging to 7 states across India. Children in the age group of 5-15 years showcased their creativity through their art at the 16th National Competition of Globalart India, which was inaugurated by 

Dr. K.R. Sitalakshmi, Professor and Dean – School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University and 

Mr. K. S. V. V. Prasad, I.R.S – Commissioner of Customs (Import) along with Mr. Dinesh Victor, Founder & MD, SIP Academy India (which runs the Globalart programme in India).

Mr. Mahair Goh, Founder Director of GlobalartWorldwide flew in from Malaysia for the event. In the afternoon session Mr. V Saravana Ragavan – Head of Department – Visual Arts, Rukmani Devi College of Fine Arts, Kalakshetra Foundation joined for the prize distribution. 

Speaking on the occasion Dr. K.R. Sitalakshmi, Professor and Dean, School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University said “It is really importantto instill creativity in children from a young age in order to enable them to stand-out amongst their peers in today’s competitive world.’ She also spoke about how creativity builds the foundation for diverse career options.’’

Mr. K. S. V. V. Prasad, I.R.S. – Commissioner of Customs (Import) said: It is very encouraging to see these young children enthusiastically participating in this competition to showcase their creativity and artistic skills. He mentioned that creative thinking is a key skill to excel in any field.

Mr. Dinesh Victor, Managing Director, SIP Academy India [of which Globalart India is a unit] stated thatgreater participation was being witnessed year after year. “Creativity is a critical tool for success in today’s world. And the Globalart programme which nurtures children’s creativity using drawing and colouring (which most children love) has been very well received by both the children as well as their parents. With creativity honed in the early stages of life, these children who are the citizens of tomorrow will be better equipped to find innovative solutions to various complex issues in a rapidly evolving world.” said Mr. Victor. He also added that “Many of our earlier students especially those who are today successfully pursuing new age careers in interior design, architecture, graphic design and fashion design attribute their success to Globalart.”

During the evening session when the prizes were announced

Mr. Mahair Goh, Founder Director of GlobalartWorldwide said that that the “Given the right platform to develop their creative skills – ourstudents will be far better prepared to innovate and handle challenges in every sphere of life and emerge as thought leaders of tomorrow. Our role in this endeavour is hence very satisfying.” said Mr. Goh

Also speaking on the occasion, Guest -of-Honour Mr. V Saravana Ragavan – Head of Department – Visual Arts, Rukmani Devi College of Fine Arts, Kalakshetra Foundation said – “It is amazing to see such vibrant pictures drawn and coloured by these young children which clearly exhibit each of their own unique ideas on the theme given!”
