Chennai, India: The Westin Chennai Velachery is hosting a Pondicherry food festival at their all-day dining restaurant, Seasonal Tastes. The Palates of Pondicherry food festival presents a delectable culinary expedition through the alleyways of Pondicherry. Indulge in the culinary masterpieces that celebrate the fusion of French and South Indian cuisine, presenting a symphony of aromas and seasonings. This festival is a culinary delight for all food connoisseurs, curated by Chef Tamizh, having 16 years of experience in South Indian cuisine and has wonderfully combined it with French cuisine to create a symphony of flavors.

 After having a taste of the flavorful platters at Pondicherryduring his expedition there, Chef Tamizh curated a special menu for the festival that features a wide range of dishes. 

Chef Tamizh says “I am extremely excited to present a taste of Pondicherry to our guests where they can indulge in starters such as cotelettes kavapu, creole spiced prawns, chilli cheese pakoda, and podi idly with Chutney. The main course includes spring vegetable fricassee with lemon rice, chicken cordon bleu with chakkaravalli kalangu soufflé, van kozhi biryani, kaikuthalsteamed rice. We also have a variety of vegan dish options likepodi stuffed melagai bhajji, ennai katharikai, yam roast, chinnavengaya puzhi kozhambu, and ragi ada. Guests are in for great treats as we are presenting a large variety of desserts like marayalli kujangu cake – tapioca cake, vathal appam – coconutmilk flan, and karuppu yennai puthu – a sweet halwa unique to the creole community in Pondicherry. We will also feature an assortment of French entremets and pastries (with sugar-free and vegan options).

Live counters featuring coin paratha with mutton sukka / mushroom pepper fry, assorted paniyaram with an array of chutneys (vegan options available), savory waffles served along with a tartin bar will be available as well. Guests can experience a feel of Pondicherry as we have created a festival like setting in the open aqua area with Pondicherry shack-like décor, and beautiful French doors, floating live counters adorned by twinkling lights and bougainvillea.”
