Notion Press, India’s fastest growing self-publishing company has published an extraordinary read, ‘Top Driver Car & Bike driving handbook’ by Naresh Raghvan, safety advocate and road safety trainer. The book offers scientific techniques to safe and easy driving.
Indian roads could be ranked as one of the worst in comparison with roads across the globe. Poor road quality with gaping potholes and absence of adequate road signs are the norm. Untrained drivers, poor lane discipline, daily traffic jams and open violation of traffic rules add to the chaos. Even if one decides to be in cohesion with the rules, they are often scared of a mishap caused by another reckless driver. Accident rates have increased steeply with nearly 1.5 lakh Indians losing their precious lives on roads each year. Road safety is no longer just a nuisance it’s a national issue. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, says that road safety is the government’s utmost priority.
Naresh Raghvan in his book, ‘Top Driver Car & Bike driving handbook’, details globally researched scientific practices for safe and defensive driving. Good driving is not merely a chance, but a science. Even in the scenario of a negligent driver on the road, one can still be safe if they adhere to the procedures mentioned in the book. The book focusses on improving the foundation of good driving which is driver education. In the ideal pyramid of road safety- good road design, strict rules/policing and proper driver license testing are very important components and the government’s responsibility. However, Driver Education and Practice are each and every driver’s personal responsibility. TopDriver driving book aims to fill the role of Driver Education.
