International Culinary workshop on Italian & Mexican Cuisine & Christmas Cake Fruit Mixing Ceremony

SRM Institute of Hotel Management established in the year 1993 is a part of premier educational SRM group. It’s been offering quality hospitality education and training for more than two decades. The Department of Hotel management at Ekkatuthangal campus was established
in 2017, and is renowned for its quality of education, state of art infrastructure and experienced faculties. Various seminars, workshops, competitions are often conducted to bring out an exposure to the students.

The international chef’s day was celebrated on 16th of October 2018 with demonstration given by Chef. Simone F raternali, the Executive Sous Chef, Sofitel Singapore Resort & Spa, Singapore, wherein he prepared alluring Italian cuisines like Pan Seared Scallop with Grean Peas and Mint Puree, attractive Beetroot Risotto with Saffron and Parmigiano Cream and delicious Vanilla Pannacotta with Roasted Strawberry and Apricot Coulis.

Another demonstration done by Chef. Rohini Chawla, Master chef Contestant in Master Chef India Season 5 who splendidly prepared Mediterranean Fish En Papillote with Orzo Pilaf and Cake Munchkins in Appam Chatti Pan with Whipped Cream and Berry Compote which was done very innovatively.

These demonstrations brought in the enthusiasm to know more about the art of cooking different cuisines knowing the science and also about the importance and
the purpose of every ingredient used in the process of cooking.

This workshop was attended by many students from different colleges of Tamil Nadu. With Christmas heading on its way the traditional fruit mixing ceremony for the Cakes to be prepared for Christmas was also gallantly done along with the Chef Simone Fraternali, Chef. Rohini Chawla, Ms. Aarcha Udayakumar, Asst. Manager Traning, Courtyard Marriott Chennai, R.A. Nadesan, Director, Dr.D. Antony Ashok Kumar, Director Hotel Management and also the students of SRM IHM Ekkatuthaangal.

The Director Dr. D. Antony Ashok Kumar felicitated and honoured the guests
who graciously presided over the whole day event.
