The Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, has initiated to conduct a updation training program to all Child Welfare Police Officers in all Police Stations of Greater Chennai Police as enumerated and mandated by Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act-2015 and other relevant Acts pertaining to Children. The training programme has been organized to update and to impart the legal provisions in order to look after and taking care of victims, Children conflict with law and children who needs care and protection for their reformation and rehabilitation.
Today, on 25.09.2020, the updation training program for the Child Welfare Police Officers in all Police Station in Greater Chennai Police was inaugurated by Tr.Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, COP, GCP who also felicitated the gatherings. Tr. Tr. Lalvena, IAS, Commissioner of Social Defence delivered his key note address pertaining to all aspects involved in Children followed by Tmt. Seema Agrawal, IPS, ADGP HQRs, I/C CWC spoke about the current scenario in handling the children and also felicitated gatherings. H
Hon’ble Justice P.N. Prakash, Chairman of POCSO Act Committee of Hon’ble High Court of Madras delivered his presidential address and also unveiled the awareness hoarding who emphasized the need to update the legal knowledge and elaborated the ways to tackle and to reform the Children in conflict with law and to render assistance to the children who need, care and protection.
The Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, Thiru.Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal. IPS., handed over awareness posters to the 4 Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police, CWC, The Commissioner of Social Defence distributed Metal Badges to the Child Welfare Police Officers, The Additional Director General of Police, CWC distributed flash cards to Child Welfare Police Officers embedded with legal Provisions and Procedures pertaining to Children.
The training program will be held for 4 days zone wise and today it was organized for east zone in which the Additional Commissioners of Police, Dr.R.Dhinakaran, IPS (South), Dr.N.Kannan, IPS (Traffic) and Tmt.Vimala and Tr. Sridhar Babu, Deputy Commissioners of Police, Intelligence Section took part in the event.
The other dignitaries Tmt. Jayashree, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Tmt. Rohini, Sub Judge, DLSA, Tmt. Shanmugapriya, Chairman, Juvenile Justice Board, Tmt. Tamilselvi, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Tmt. Suirya kala, District Child Protection Officer and guest Lecturers Pro. M. Andrew Sesuraj, Tmt. Athilakshmi, Tmt. Girijakumarbabu, Tr. Albert David also participated and graced the function.
