The School of Computer, Information and Mathematical Sciences organized a Special Guest Lecture on “Grand Challenges in IT Research” at Seminar Hall – I, Convention Center 2nd August 2017
The chief guest for the lecture was Dr. Khurram Mustafa, Professor, Jamia Millia University, New Delhi. The lecture was presided over by Dr.V.Murugesan, Registrar, welcome addressed by Dr. P. Sheik Abdul Khader, Dean SCIMS & Director Data Centre,
Dr. Khurram Mustafa, Professor, Jamia Millia University, New Delhi stressed the need for “ownership of technology” which comes as a result of innovative research. He said that India is not the list of top 5 countries which have the ownership of technology in many areas. He said that it is essential to move from problems which have feasible solution and problems which have probable solutions to problems which have impossible solutions.
India faces problem such as 1. The architecture of brain and mind 2. Dependable systems evolution – Proven Component vs Tested Component 3.Science for global ubiquitous computing
More than 350 students from CSE, IT and CA departments were attended the guest lecture. The guest lecture has greatly inspired the students to take up research and explore problems which will lead to ownership of technology and Mr. M. Syed Masood derived the the Vote of Thanks
