British Council’s ‘Budding Journalists’ Workshop in Chennai

Chennai,21stJune 2018: After the success of Summer school,British Council brings an exciting opportunity foryoung adults who are aspiring to become journalists to learn the art of storytelling through ‘Budding Journalists – How to write to be a journalist’workshop on 23rdJune. The workshop will be conducted by a seasoned ex-journalist and presently a teacher at British Council Chennai – Ms. Diana Ningthoujam.

Good journalism has always been associated with competent writing which requires an easy command of correct language and style.While every writer has a distinctive way of writing with an expression of his or her personality, the writer should match the mood of the audience. This specially curated workshop will familiarise the participants with the key challenges of the constantly evolving world of journalism, provide with the basic concept and understanding of good journalistic writing and also help to develop the skills to think critically about the news. All in all, the workshop aims to give young adults theskills to transform themselves and well-equip themselves.

About the trainer:
Diana Ningthoujamcomes with eight years of experience in journalism and has worked as copy-editor and reporter with The Hindu, The Times of India and The New Indian Express. She has completed her Cambridge English Qualification and is a teacher with the British Council English Language Centre. She teaches and helps young adults to develop their receptive and productive skills and also delivers workshops onstory-telling, book cover designing and writing book blurb for children.
