Universal Robots, with their headquarters in Denmark introduced Collaborative Robots in the international market, their latest technological advancement which is in line with Industry 4.0; which is in sync with the automated revolution. Collaborative Robots or cobots are light weight, economic, user – friendly advanced industrial robotic arms can be used to virtually automate any process. They have a wide market in the USA, Europe and have now expanded operations in India and the SAARC region.
Since 2009, Universal Robots has pioneered the concept of collaborative robots and has over 21,000 cobots deployed globally in a wide range of industries ranging from automotive, packaging, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, metal working, and manufacturing. The company has seen the evolution of robot arms from the UR3, UR5 and UR10, which are built for respective payloads of 3kg, 5kg and 10kg.
Mr. Jürgen von Hollen, President, Universal Robots said, “We are happy to be participating at ACMEE 2018 as it is India’s largest Machine Tools Exhibition. They have provided us with an enormous opportunity to showcase the collaborative robots. Cobots have revolutionized the manufacturing industry as they automate and streamline repetitive and potentially unsafe processes thus, ensuring safe work environment while increasing productivity and efficiency. The SMEs of India are its backbone and our target market. The main aim is to promote the cobot technology and spread awareness among the small and medium manufacturers of the market. This technology is efficient and affordable with no AMC, which will help the SMEs to complete on a global platform by increasing their productivity and output. The collaborative robot market is a growing one and we are working towards creating an ecosystem of developers for providing various innovative applications to consumers.”
Mr. Pradeep David, General Manager, Universal Robots – South Asia said, “ACMEE 2018 gave us a great opportunity to showcase our product offerings. India has been recently introduced to collaborative robots. The return on investment is less than 2 years in the Indian business environment. The need of advanced robotics is required for accessibility to anybody who wants to increase productivity while maintaining high safety standards. We are growing our channel partner strength in all major locations of the country and will continue to expand our network in the coming years. With the government also supporting the growth of industries and sectors, the demand and requirement for this technology is growing.”
