Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Government has a plan to provide high speedbroadband connectivity to 12524 villages in the state at the grass root level with a view to enabling inclusive digital growth a reality,
said Dr M Manikandan, Minister for Information Technology, Government of Tamil Nadu.
In his inaugural address at the Conference and Exposition on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) under the theme Accelerating Progress: Inclusive Digital Growth organised by the
Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as a part of the 17th edition of Connect here on Tuesday, the Minister said that all urban areas would also be provided with optical fibre cable connectivity, all for
strengthening the information and communication sectors across the state.
He also said that based on the importance of IT/ITeS sector, the State Government had proposed to establish IT Parks at Ramanathapuram and Cuddalore districts and a Centre of Excellence for Fin Tech at STPI in Chennai this year.
