SRMIST has unique way of exposing its students to the nuances of the corporate world. In a bid to do the same, the SRM School of Management had organized Campus 2 Corporate event engaging budding MBA graduates for the ninth consecutive year at SRMIST, Kattankulathur campus. The theme of the event is to wrap four key areas namely Finance, Marketing, Operations, Systems and Human Resources. The workshops involved knowledge exchange from distinguished individuals of today’s corporate and industry leading names such as ZOHO, Renault-Nissan, Daimler to name a few.
The Finance workshop was presided by Mr. Sundararajan, the General manager of Mando India Ltd. who shared his invaluable views on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Increase in profit ratio of the country and the Dollar-Rupee inflation. This was followed by the students being grouped to evaluate and present their respective case studies to the dignitaries’ present.
The Systems workshop was graced by the presence of Mr. Arvind Natarajan, Marketing and Business Development Executive of Zoho Corporation – one of the latest emergent and highest impact creating names in the field of database management systems. The workshop imparted invaluable knowledge in the field of data analytics and sales maintenance.
The Operations workshop involved the presence of higher level executive managers from Daimler, Renault-Nissan and Rane brakes. Their priceless knowledge was shared with the students and this was a once in a lifetime opportunity where students faced real life problems at the operations management level. Each group was encouraged to use any method of presentation they wished and the students actively participated in the problem solving sessions.
The Marketing workshop was conducted by Mr.Srikanth, Head of Business Research and his team at Frost & Sullivan. This involved students to taking up a marketing problem and how it needs to be formulated as a research problem proposal.
The HR workshop was chaired by Ms.Pearlena Bharathkumar, Head – HR Learning of Hyundai. Students were guided in understanding real time HR issues and encouraged to come up with their solutions for them.
The valedictory function was celebrated on the successful completion of C2C. The dignitaries present in this event include Mr. Murali who gave his own inspiring life examples of how to get up the corporate ladder. Mr. Stanley George – human resource expert encouraged the upcoming future management fraternity to get their hands dirty on the work involved and Mr. Rajan Babu, who resonated with the vibe of the students while imparting priceless knowledge about current trends of management. Students were able to glimpse at their own futures in the personalities who had presided the workshops.
