SRM HACKATHON 2017 DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATIONTECHNOLOGY

SRM Hackathon 2017 is an event where the participants are challenged to use their coding skills and hack intriguing life problems based on the various themes provided during the event. The developers are asked to come and build their products that would lay a helping hand in building the future bit by bit. With several sponsors to its name, SRM Hackathon is a national level event inviting participants from various corners of the country.

A total of 1500 participants registered for the event. Out of which 150 participants are shortlisted for the competition. At the end of 2 days continuous coding, top three ideas are selected. The winning team of SRM Hackathon2017 was Jeswanikaran from IIT Madras and they were awarded prizes worth 1,50,000. The 2nd position was secured by the team Adhil from Guru Nanak College of Arts and Science and they were awarded with prizes worth1,00,000. The 3rd position was occupied by the team The Exception from SRM University and they were awarded with prizes worth 50,000.
Few special prizes namely Eureka which was won by the team Tech Mayhem from SRM University and Lone Coder which was won by the teamMahak Labs from Jai Narain College of Technology and She-Hack which was won by the teamAshwini from Sri ManakulaVinayagar Engineering College and Nocturnal Geeks which was won by the team Aide from PES Institute of Technology and lastly the Fan Favourite which was won by the team Tech Narvi from Sri Krishna College of Technology.
Overall it was a very successful event and there was a continuous support from our IT Department and Faculty members. We are highly thankful to our Chancellor Dr. T.R. Parivendhar and Management, Director and The Head of Department Mrs. G. Vadivu for providing us the guidance for making SRM Hackathon a grand success.
