Sinhgad Technical Education Society’s TeamKarma became the first Indian team in history to win the FMB World Cup in China. Seven engineering students from various colleges of Sinhgad Institutes participated in the International Robowar. The team participated under the 60kg category with the robot named ‘Karma’ and triumphed by defeating the former champions from Brazil.
Robowars is a robot design competition where teams design and construct a remote-controlled robots capable of fighting a one on one tournament. A team is declared winner if it defeats the opponent in under three minutes.
The new World Robowar champions in the 60 kg category consistes of Utkarsh Khodke, Abhishek Raut, Ninad Patil, Nikunj Choudhari & Yash Ranjankar from the Sinhgad College of Engineering and Shaunak Thakar & Rahul Sahu from the Smt. Kashibai Navale College of Engineering.
Speaking of this achievement, Mr. Rohit Navale, Vice President – HR, Sinhgad Institutessaid, “At Sinhgad Institutes, it is our endeavor to provide students a platform where they can practically experience industry realities and learn from their experience. FMB are the organizers of international robowars events in China under the name FMB World Cup. The event boasts of an extremely well designed and safe arena. The matches in this event all live telecasted online and through various Chinese media channels.
