London, November 6, 2017.- The World Travel Market (WTM) 2017 was the ideal setting in which PROMPERÚ presented its latest international tourism campaign, which will be available in seven languages and will be shown in 19 countries, those who contribute with around 90% of foreign tourists to Peru.
The campaign, whose slogan is ‘Peru, the richest country in the world’, seeks to capture international attention for the incomparable wealth that our country offers regarding invaluable experiences, such as its culture, nature, gastronomy or adventure activities. Thanks to the care and transformative action of the ancient Peruvians, traditions have been preserved from generation to generation in the Amazon, in the Andes and in the Coast, traditions that enriches the travelers who visit Peru nowadays.
To sustain our wealth, the UEP indicator – Unique Experiences Producer – has been created as an advertising resource, leaded by Peru due to the fact that it has preserved its customs, enjoys a great biodiversity and its recognized history and cuisine.
Therefore, ‘Peru, the richest country in the world’ seeks to highlight our destinations to the tourists who seeks enrichment with emotions and moments that will change their lives and feed their soul.

Tourism in Peru is an industry that contributes 3.9% national GDP and generates more than 1’300,000 jobs directly and indirectly, becoming one of the main sectors that contribute to the development of the country. The current government has set a goal to double the arrival of international tourists by the year 2021, and this new campaign aims to achieve that goal.
World Travel Market is the most important international trade fair for tourism professionals on an international scale for the tourism industry. It is the world’s leading event for the travel industry to meet industry professionals and conduct business.
This fair is held annually in the city of London, United Kingdom, for 37 years and Peru has participated in it uninterrupted since 1993.
