National Talent Acquisition Test (NTAT) to be hosted in College of Engineering, Anna University this year

Chennai, March 2018 : SwitchIdea, an online internship platform connecting students with their prospective employers, is scheduling its flagship, NTAT (National Talent Acquisition Test) at Chennai on April 8th, 2018 at College of Engineering, Guindy. NTAT or National Talent Acquisition Test is a renowned aptitude test that assesses and screens the employability-skills of candidates through its domain specific evaluation process. This in turn helps undergraduate & postgraduate students to get verified internships in their pre-final years itself.

Since the candidate’s identity is manually verified at the examination center, companies who hire NTAT certified students are assured of candidate’s identity, college associations, degrees they are pursuing and their domain skills. Another major benefit for companies who hire NTAT certified interns include getting compensated by claiming 50% stipend given to interns from GoI under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). In short, this offline evaluation addresses employers’ prior inability to efficiently search and target diverse student applicants, making NTAT the most effective tool for both sides of the search equation.

The NTAT is offered once in a year and in the past, it took place at IIT Bombay, JNTU Hyderabad, Sir MVIT Bangalore, MIT Pune, NSIT New Delhi, Hindu College Old Delhi and other Tier-1 Indian cities. Topics covered in the test include technical knowledge, math, logical reasoning, ethics and work situations (which assesses students understanding of workplace scenarios). Since its inception in 2014, more than 12,000 students have been offered verified internships across multiple verticals including web technology, web development, IOT projects, machine learning, graphic design, content writing, sales and marketing, and client servicing projects.

Every year, more than 1800 employers use NTAT database for their intern hiring needs, including Amazon India, Intel India Pvt Ltd, Anchor Electricals, FreshDesk, Ketto, Freecharge, Progress Software, Havells, In-Bev, HackerEarth, LaPolo, Explara, MeraEvents, etc. The complete list of companies enrolling this year to hire interns in Chennai is publicly available on NTAT’s official website.

The 90 minutes test comes in a multiple choice format (MCQ) and OMR answer sheets. Since student identities are manually verified at the examination centre, companies accessing the NTAT database are assured of student’s identity, college associations and the degrees they are pursuing. Additionally, students receive a digital certification which gives them a single door access to hundreds of companies

across Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune and other cities.

Students are also required to bring their college ID or Aadhar Card, hall ticket (also known as Batch ID), a printed copy of their updated resume and a black ballpoint pen to the exam center.
