GILLETTE LAUNCHES VETRI NITCHAYAM, AGROOMING AND SOFT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE IN TAMIL NADU

Madurai, 2017 – Gillette, India’s leading men’s grooming brand, has launched ‘Vetri Nichayam – Success in Your Hand’ initiative in the top 99 colleges across Tamil Nadu. Through this initiative, Gillette aims to offer students in Tamil Nadu a professional grooming and soft skills development platform to help them be job-ready for the future. Furthermore, the initiative will award unique job opportunities in Australia to 8 – 10 students shortlisted as part of the program.

Vetri Nichayam aims to cover top 99 colleges across 7 centres of the Tamil Nadu market. This includes Chennai (30), Pondicherry/Vellore (5), Trichy (15), Coimbatore (20), Salem (5), Madurai (15) and Tirunelveli (5). The sessions conducted in the colleges will be for a duration of 1 hour, covering aspects such as personal effectiveness, confidence building, communication skills, grooming, business etiquette, group discussion and interview skills.

Speaking about the importance of grooming and soft skills in the work environment, Prof. Dr. M. Ramalingam, Principal, Jerusalem College of Engineering said, “While technical know-how is crucial for success in corporate jobs, it is also vital for students to be well-groomed and look presentable. The Vetri Nichayam initiative by Gillette is preparing and guiding students in the right direction of progress, and I am pleased that my college is associated with the programme.”
