Aries Plex, one of the largest cinemas in Kerala, with a seating capacity of more than 1515 (700 seats for Audi1 double 4K Atmos) was jampacked on Friday, the first day of its re-release.

Aries Plex collected more than Rs 3 crores when original version of the movie released on 10th July 2015. Aries Plex became the first cinemas in the country which generated whooping revenue in a short span of time. Bahubali is the first film to make such a record collection from single cinemas. Bahubali one of the most expensive films in Indian film history made at a cost of Rs. 250 crore had broken existing box-office collection records.

The re-release of magnum opus movie directed by SS Rajamouli was conducted in connection with the release of second part titled Bahubali: The Conclusion on April 28. Ariex Plex equipped with top-notch infrastructure facilities is the only cinemas in the country with 4K projection at multiplex. Recliners and seats were imported from Belgium.

“Watching visual splendours and technical wizardry in ultra modern ambiance is a unique experience and it is worth cherishing. Bahubali is one of such movies that must be watched only in 4K facility. It is a positive sign that the stakeholders in the film industry are gradually embracing advanced technology. We are elated as our efforts to uplift film industry (from production to screening) are reaping benefits,” said Sohan Roy, Chairman of Aries Plex.

He added that movie-goers never get a chance to experience 4K movies in its original quality due to the substandard condition of studios and theatres. “As a solution to this, we floated Indywood consortium comprising 2,000 billionaires and corporate. The project aims at initiating 10,000 new 4K projection multiplex screens, 1,00,000 2K projection home cinemas, film studios, animation/ VFX studios and film schools conforming to international standards. We are planning to expand our operations across the country by the end of 2018,” said Sohan Roy, Founder Director of Indywood.

Sohan Roy who pioneered the concept of building 4K Atmos home cinema in less space was ranked 40 in the Most Powerful Indian leaders in the Middle East, listed by the Forbes Magazine.
