Amazon India to expand Customer Service facilities in India Sets up two new facilities in Coimbatore & Noida

In line with its commitment to raise the bar for online shopping experience in India and offer customers’ unmatched convenience Amazon Development Centre (I) Pvt. Ltd. today announced the opening of two Customer Service facilities-one each in Coimbatore and Noida. Amazon now has five Customer Service facilities across India with two sites in Hyderabad set up in 2005 & 2014 and a third site in Pune that opened in 2015.
The new Customer Service sites will support Amazon with pre and post order customer service through various mediums like email, chat and phone. The sites will also host teams that provide support to Amazon India’s operations in the form of training, workflow etc. The facilities will help create employment for hundreds of Customer Service personnel in the states of Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
Talking about the benefits of the new Customer Service facilities, Raj Raghavan, Director Human Resources APAC, Amazon said, “Both Coimbatore & Noida are fast-growing, vibrant and young cities with a great talent pool, infrastructure and growth potential. In line with our vision of building Amazon as Earth’s most customer-centric company, the new Customer Service facilities in Coimbatore and Noida will augment our capabilities to serve our customers better and enable Amazon to deliver consistently high levels of customer experience.”
In Coimbatore, Amazon is working with STPI, Govt. of India for the India BPO promotion scheme which is envisaged under Digital India Programme to promote BPO/ ITeS operations in smaller cities. This is aligned to Amazon’s objective of penetrating into smaller towns and cities in the country.
The new Coimbatore and Noida facilities would be fully operational in April and June this year respectively. Amazon begins hiring for these two sites from this week.
