The Reunion of Madras Regiment is being held from 25 May to 27 May 17 at Madras Regimental Centre, Wellington with a firm commitment to preserve the heritage and work towards growth of the Regiment. On the opening day all the Veterans, Serving Officers, Ex Servicemen, families and children participated in a heritage walk from Srinagesh Barracks to Thangaraj Stadium and undertook tree plantation.
Later during the day, a special function was organised at the famous Shri Murugan Temple of the Madras Regimental Centre where all ranks sought blessing of the Lord. In the evening, the famous Military Band of the Centre gave a scintillating performance in the historical Srinagesh barracks.
Second day started with solemn, but, impressive Wreath Laying Parade at MRC War Memorial. Colonel of The Madras Regiment, Lt Gen Rajeev Chopra and many other senior serving officers and veterans laid the wreath. Every one present on the occasion remembered the martyrs for the supreme sacrifice they made for our motherland. Post War Memorial Service, a special Sainik Sammelan was held at Srinagesh Barracks which was presided over by Colonel of The Madras Regiment.
